What to prepare?

In order to enter Indonesia all international travellers have to prepare a set of documents and follow specific rules. The information you find on this website are updated* regularly and aim to give you the best overview on what you have to know. Nevertheless, all information is without any guarantee or legal claim.

 

 

  In a nutshell:

  1. Get a visa for Indonesia

  2. Get health insurance that covers COVID-19 expenses

  3. Register your Covid-19 vaccine certificates at vaksinln.dto.kemkes.go.id/sign/in ;

  4. Download the Indonesian mobile application PeduliLindungi (available on Google Play; App Store, App Gallery);

  5. Receive (print out) your negative PCR test result prior your departure (max. 48 hours from when the sample was taken to the time of your departure to Indonesia);

  6. Complete an electronic health alert card (e-HAC) on PeduliLIndungi;

  7. Show printed or digital proof that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days prior to your departure (exemptions apply to visitors under 18 years old, diplomatic/official government visit, and medically certified persons). Indonesian citizen and foreign travellers who are not fully vaccinated will receive vaccination after quarantine;

  8. You will have clearance to continue your journey in Indonesia without quarantine after symptom check (body temperature) at arrival.

 

  We advise to print out all necessary travel and health documents prior departure!

 

To obtain a visa, you must have a local sponsor. The local sponsor must either be an individual, a company, or an institution that resides in Indonesia, that is relevant to your visit and will take full responsibility for your stay in Indonesia.

 

Visa application is now centrally managed by the Indonesian Immigration and accessible at https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/. Only the local sponsor can apply for the visa on behalf of the visitor.

 

If the application is approved, you will receive an e-Visa by email. Please print the e-Visa prior to your departure. You do not need to submit anything to the Indonesian Embassy.

 

International travellers (foreign nationals) need one of the following visas in order to enter to Indonesia:

  1. Diplomatic and Official visa (to apply, click here);

  2. Diplomatic and Official stay permit;

  3. Indonesia Temporary Residence Card (KITAS) and Indonesia Permanent Residence Card (KITAP) Visit https://izintinggal-online.imigrasi.go.id/ for more information;

  4. Visitor visas, including but not limited to:

  • 211 A Visa;

This visa includes tourist*, emergency, business, film, medical visit, official visit, yachters and G20 or the 144th International Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings.

 

  • 211B Visa;

This visa includes foreign workers in probation.

 

  1. Limited stay visa, including but not limited to:
  • C312 Visa (work visa);
  • C313 Visa (1-year foreign investment projects in Indonesia);
  • C314 Visa (2-year foreign investment projects in Indonesia);
  • C316 Visa (educational visits);
  • C317 Visa (family reunification)
  1. All non-immigrant crew members or cabin crews arriving any vessel or aircraft from any port or place outside Indonesia.

  2. Traditional Border Crossing pass/card holder.

  3. Under the bilateral agreement (Travel Corridor Arrangements).

  4. Granted a legal permission from the Ministry/Agency.

International travellers who wish to apply for those visas will be required to have a local guarantor/sponsor to sponsor their visit to Indonesia.

 

*Foreign nationals with the purpose of leisure travel can enter the territory of the Republic of Indonesia under the following conditions:

  1. Through the designated ports of entry;

  2. Having received at least two COVID-19 vaccine shots, with the last vaccine at least 14 days prior departure;

  3. A negative RT-PCR test result from departure country (max. 48 hours old);

  4. A short-visit visa or other entry permit (e.g. visa on arrival for specific country residents);

  5. Proof of ownership of health insurance with a minimum coverage value of USD25.000 which includes financing for handling COVID-19;

  6. Proof of booking confirmation and payment for accommodation while in Indonesia.

COVID-19 Vaccination Registration

All international travellers who have received COVID-19 vaccination overseas have to register their COVID-19 vaccination here.
After registration, a verification email will normally be sent out between 3 – 10 business days. Please expect delays as the central server in Jakarta, Indonesia has received large volume of registration requests recently. All international travellers may still be able to enter Indonesia without the COVID-19 registration.

If you are foreign citizen, you will have to input your passport information to the website. The vaccine record will be verified by respective Embassy in Jakarta. Please consult with your respective Embassy for more information.

Upon receipt the verification E-Mail, please download “PeduliLindungi" application on your Apple Store or Google Play. After login, go to “Vaccine Certificate" and click “Claim Now". Follow the instructions to claim your vaccination certificate. The certificate will have a unique barcode in it. The barcode is required upon entry public establishments or facilities in Indonesia.

 

RT-PRC Test result

To enter Indonesia, all travellers must show a negative RT-PCR test result in the country or region of origin which samples were taken within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before the departure time.

All international travellers are required to complete e-HAC before travel.

Please download “PeduliLindungi" app in your Apple Store or Android Play to complete the e-HAC (How-To-Guide). You will get a unique barcode at the end of the process and will have to show it upon check-in and arrival.

If you are traveling with family, you are only required to create one account. For example, if a parent is travelling with his/her children, the parent is required to put his/her dependent information under his/her name.

There is no general quarantine requirement for travellers who are fully vaccinated. Nevertheless, at arrival in Indonesia, all international travellers who are showing symptoms and/or with body temperature above 37.5 degree Celsius, are required to carry out RT-PCR re-examination. Indonesian citizens are exempted from the fee of RT-PCR re-examination while foreign citizen have to pay independently.

In case of a positive PCR test after symptom check upon arrival in Indonesia:

∙ Isolate at an approved facility or at a hospital

∙ Foreign citizens must bear their own isolation expenses

∙ Isolation costs for Indonesian citizens will be covered by the Indonesian Government.

 

Please note that all international travellers (Indonesian citizen and foreign citizen) are required to quarantine under the following categories:

  1. Quarantine period 5 x 24 hours for those who have not been vaccinated or have received first dose of vaccination.

  2. Quarantine period for minors under 18 years or people required exceptional protection is followed the provisions of the parents/legal guardians/travel companions.

All international travellers are responsible for all expenses during the quarantine, including the COVID-19/PCR tests.

 

COVID-19/PCR Tests during quarantine

RT-PCR re-examination must be carried out two times on foreign travellers who undergo quarantine procedure. The first test will be taken upon arrival and the second will be taken before the quarantine period ends. The healthcare provider will come to your hotel to collect the sample. Those will be on the traveller's expense. Please consult with the hotel for the test arrangements and fees.

If you are tested positive, you will be referred to designated Indonesian hospital/health facility conducted by the Indonesian Government at your own expense.
